Teen wants jewelery

ForrestGreen Says: I have a teenage daughter and she wants jewelery for her birthday. She has a bunch of cheap costume jewelery. I am thinking of getting her a necklace or something to give her. What is an appropriate amount to spend on a teenager for jewelery and can anyone give me any suggestions of what to get her? Posted Jan 15, 2012 | |

EmeraldCat Says: My mother bought for me a promise ring when I was 13 years old (promising that I wouldn't have sex before marriage). It was 14k gold and she paid around 200-300 for it. She would also buy for my charms for my necklaces and stuff- each one would cost around 150 per charm. I think those prices are reasonable for teens. I wouldn't get anything higher than that, in case she loses it or it gets stolen. Posted Jan 16, 2012 |

Lovelyn9 Says: I would spend no more than 500 max on a teenager. Really, why do they need nice pieces of jewelery- just one or two pieces, but not a lot. EmeraldCat-- A promise ring is a good idea. I never heard of one before. I might get one for my daughter when she is older. Thanks for sharing! Posted Jan 17, 2012 |
